We Without Honor or Purpose March On by Bobby Miller
We were once proud men who fought with
the Founding Father's courage, determination and goals. But victory is a two-sided sword.
A few men, a precious few, have used a win to prepare a feast for the champions as well as
the defeated. But throughout history, most conquerors have carried the spoils of war off
to be divided unequally even among their own clan.
Since WWII, the American military has
been used as corporate rent-a-cops. They know they're being used and not only world
opinion, but the opinion of millions of Americans,
confirm it for them everyday.
The
consequence of this is showing up in the news, and it can be seen on our soldiers
faces and heard in their voices when they're separated from the pack. They're like sheep,
disinterested without liability or high merit. If ordered, or left to believe that
slaughtering and dissecting people is acceptable, they will do it calmly as if they had
done nothing at all. There is a hopeless lack of resourcefulness which makes them some of
the least determined soldiers I've ever met.
When
I arrived in Vietnam in 1968, I found a group of well-educated Americans who loved their
country and, although they were willing to die for it, too willing, they were robotic. The
very last things on earth that a person needs in order to think clearly and calmly were in
abundance when I stepped into the tent I had been assigned to. Cases of candy, soft
drinks, and cigarettes were stacked from floor to ceiling. Then there were the bags of
mind altering stuff without labels. All of these things, void of one iota of concern, were
provided free of charge by the corporate butt boys in our nation's capital. We were
delivered into the hands of our enemies for them to do as they pleased with us; and should
we survive, we would return home to be cast aside as if we were lepers.
Watching the Iraq War and the soldiers
returning is nothing but a rerun of the Vietnam War for me. Those who believe any Arab in
the Middle East is a friend of the Americans is to believe Feisal adored Jemal. Every Arab
in Iraq who is not trying to kill Americans is being paid by the Pentagon and the CIA not
to kill them. It's not the surge of soldiers; it's the surge of U.S. dollars that has
reduced American casualties. Obama and McCain both know that every American in the Middle
East has a price on their head. Don't pay the price, and off comes the head.
"This
is a government of the people, by the people and for the people no longer. It is a
government of corporations, by corporations, and for corporations." -
Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th President of the United States
