Fade by Kyle Mills Brooklyn-born Salam Al Fayed (better known as Fade) is an ex-SEAL who speaks Arabic and fits right in in the Middle East. But he was seriously injured on an assignment, and our fine government refused to pay for the surgery to remove the bullet from his back. So, of course, he’s not happy to have his former friend Matt Egan and his boss show up trying to recruit him back into their new Homeland Security sub-sub-subgroup. Egan’s idiot boss, Hillel Strand, doesn’t understand any form of ‘no’ and masterminds a police raid to get Fade which ends up a total disaster. Karen Manning is the SWAT team leader whose men were killed and who’s hung out to dry by her pompous boss. So Fade is out to kill Strand and possibly Egan. Strand definitely wants Fade dead. Egan thinks he wants Fade dead. Karen wants Fade to turn himself in. The actions of everyone make for an interesting story and leave you wondering how the major mess will be cleaned up. |
