Wild Fire by Nelson DeMille

John Corey is back in this story, fighting for truth and justice as usual. He's still working as a special contract agent for the Federal Anti-Terrorist Task Force. And, of course, he's working this case with his wife Kate Mayfield, an FBI agent. His dry, sarcastic wit had me laughing a lot. But this story is no laughing matter.

Bain Madox, a billionaire with an overblown ego, and a group of equally egotistical men from high places in government and the military have gotten their hands on some old Russian nuclear weapons and have grandiose plans for the nukes to set Wild Fire into motion and allegedly save the world. Yeah, right.

The reason John and Kate are brought into the mess and how they figure out how to save their jobs, and maybe the world, form the basis for this intense, intriguing story.
